Promote to your readers —Celebrate the sale and promote it to your readers by using hashtags #EOYSale2023 and #Smashwords in your social media. Visit the D2D blogto download attractive banners, buttons and badges to use on social media, your website and within your author newsletter.
Consider enrolling your series starters priced at FREE - Readers love series! A free series starter can motivate more readers to give your series a try.
Bonus 4th tip!
Collaborate with your fellow authors and promote each other’s books. A brief suggestion on social media and/or your author newsletter saying something like, “If you enjoy my books, check out books by (Awesome Author)!” Your readers will appreciate your suggestion because they trust you, your author friends will love you even more, and tidings of good cheer will spread even further. And who doesn’t want more of that? To participate, you can bulk enroll all your books now through December 13, 2023 and assign discount levels of 25%-off, 50%-off, 75%-off, or even FREE.
One thing to note: The discounts at Smashwords are applied via coupon codes, and only apply to the Smashwords Store! In other words, the discount levels you set for the sale are for the Smashwords store only and will not impact your retail prices at other stores. You also don’t have to worry about other retailers price matching your on-sale books.
