We hope you're looking forward to the Holidays as much as we are!

2023 Holidays with Draft2Digital

IF YOU ARE PUBLISHING NEW BOOKS OR MAKING CHANGES, THERE COULD BE DELAYS.

Submit your requests no later than December 4 to make sure they will be live by Christmas.

Christmas and the New Year are creeping up on us and we wanted to give you an early warning that these holidays will affect publishing times.

Christmas falls on Monday in America this year, so our offices will be closed on both Monday, December 25 and Tuesday, December 26. Normal hours will resume on Wednesday, December 27.

Offices will also be closed on Monday, January 1 in observance of the New Year.

We expect that the flurry of pre-Christmas releases and the special holiday hours at our partner stores will result in some delays. If possible, plan ahead and submit any changes or listing requests by December 4 to ensure the changes get published before the break.

We have received additional details directly from several of our partners:

APPLE BOOKS

Apple's publishing systems will be experiencing additional delays from mid-December through early January. To help you in planning release dates around this period you may use the following schedule:

  • Release dates from December 18 have a delivery deadline of Monday, December 4
  • Release dates from December 26 have a delivery deadline of Monday, December 11

All changes must be submitted prior to midnight (PST) on the dates above.

Due to the high volume of deliveries and updates we receive during this time of year, we do not recommend making changes between December 18 and December 26.

BARNES & NOBLE

Book submissions and metadata changes supplied to Barnes & Noble from Draft2Digital are processed the next business day.

Offices will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. No files will process and there will be no direct support on days when closed.  Also during this time you may experience review slowdowns, and slowdowns following those dates as B&N deals with backlog.

However, automated delivery will continue 24/7 through the holiday period.

RAKUTEN KOBO

Metadata and digital files will be loaded 24/7 over the holidays, however there will be a lot of data flowing through their system which may cause updates to take longer.

They recommend all high priority deliveries for the holiday season be sent at minimum a week before holidays but do suggest minimizing deliveries during Christmas and New Year's.

We recommend getting everything submitted by December 4 when possible to avoid any possibility of unforeseen delays.

EVERAND

Everand (formerly Scribd) typically has limited support over the break, which greatly restricts how much our Customer Support can assist you with problems at their stores.

However, all their processes will continue to run 24/7 during the holidays.

Their office will be closed from December 22 to January 1.

TOLINO

No imports processed from December 23 to December 26 and December 30 thru January 2.

Limited support in the Tolino ecosystem (only urgent imports and updates that cannot be postponed are possible) from between December 18 until January 3.

AMAZON

Amazon Support will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day.

To ensure against potential delays in file review and other processing, we recommend submitting your books prior to December 4.

PALACE MARKETPLACE

Palace Marketplace will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day.

To ensure against potential delays in file review and other processing, we recommend submitting your books prior to December 4.

During the holiday season, it’s prudent to expect publishing and change implementation delays due to the volume of submissions combined with scheduled holiday closures. However, there are no confirmed or planned publishing delays.

Preorders scheduled during these periods will go live as expected, provided we have final manuscripts in and approved before the cutoff date of December 4. We highly recommend getting us final files as early as possible.

Happy Holidays,

The Draft2Digital Team
